New
Year's Eve Message, December, 2006
Who will be the last one to die
for this nonsense?
In January of 2007 we have now passed the unfortunate
number of 3000 dead American soldiers in the war that should have never
been fought. Estimates of the Iraqi non-combatant dead range from 30,000
to 100,000 and beyond.
The
lies issued by the Bush Administration to goad the American nation into
war have been thoroughly debunked. Saddam was not engaged in a WMD
program. He was militarily contained by sanctions and constant harassment
by US and UK forces and therefore no threat to his neighbors or anyone
else. Saddam was not involved in any strategic way with al-Qaeda or any
other terrorist organization.
Lies. All of it, damn, dirty lies, that have cost
Americans so dearly that the only proper course of action is to impeach
the snakes that lied them. America has lost 3000 dead and about 25
thousand injured and maimed. We have lost our credibility and right to
lead the Free World. We have destabilized the entire Middle East and have
created a power vacuum for the new regional superpower, Iran. Our national
security is compromised by the loss of goodwill and cooperation from
nations around the world, not to mention the strain upon our military
forces which are scrambling to meet the requirements of their missions.
We have
been intentionally MISLED
Most Americans now "get it" that Bush's Iraq War is a
complete catastrophe. Most Americans now understand that Bush deliberately
lied by omission and commission to get Americans to support his war, which
at best is his colossal blunder and at worst was a calculated attempt to
gain a permanent economic foothold in the region for his oil baron family
and friends.
A few years
back, the state of California put a man in jail for 50 years for stealing
less than $100 worth of children's videotapes. What is the appropriate
punishment for intentionally steering the nation into disaster?
Our Constitution holds the
answer: impeachment, conviction, and removal from office. We cannot afford another 2 years of Bush Iraq
policy. It is deadly to our children, the Iraqi people, and in the end
it will accomplish nothing. Bush shows no sign that he will "change
course", even though the best foreign policy minds in the country from
both sides of the aisle say that this "course" will never work. Bush has got to go, the sooner, the better.
Impeach
Bush. NOW.
